Why We’re Starting This Blog 

We believe stories are powerful. They connect us, inspire us, and remind us of what matters most. This blog will be a space where we reflect on our journey, highlight the people and moments that shape our work, and invite you into the behind-the-scenes of Salt & Light. You’ll hear from our team, our teens, our volunteers, our community, and more!

Our Heart & Mission 

Salt & Light Community Center was born out of a desire to create a safe, Christ-centered space where people—especially youth—can grow, serve, and be empowered. We’re here to walk alongside individuals and families, offering real-life skills, mentorship, and community support. From after-school programs and mentoring to service projects and spiritual encouragement, everything we do is rooted in love, hope, and the message of Jesus.

We want to be a light in the darkness and bring out the God-flavors of this world (Matthew 5:13-16). That’s why we’re committed to showing up, staying present, and building something lasting in our community.
